This Week I Learned: We All Have The Same 4 Types of Regrets [2022–02–18]

This researcher collected 16,000 regrets from people in 105 countries, and it turns out that they are all variations on 4 things:

  • didn’t lay a foundation for later life (e.g. didn’t save money)
  • lack of boldness (I wish I’d started my own business earlier / asked out that person)
  • moral (I did something that Nick Cave would sing about)
  • losing connection with people (didn’t reach out when they were slipping away)

So it seems that to learn from this and live better lives we can do the opposite more often.
